Those who are wondering what this Cloud9 would be, its just the part of my department that does useful activities other than work. Be it organizing project parties, or some events, or utilizing the funds allocated for the offshore delivery centre.
So, this time what sparked off my mind was recruiting new people, and for that what had to be achieved was creating an interest among other young folks in the department. The idea was to do an event with someone, that is the field of study of this 'someone'. Thus came the idea of ORIGAMI WORKSHOP.
Initial discussion with this lady, who happens to take interest in origami, displayed that she was highly unsure. "mein ne internet se sikhi hai, woh toh koi bhi sikh sakta hai," was the initial response. So the next few discussions was based on convincing her this was possible, with a model as to how this can be achieved. The name as of now is being withheld. Now onwards she'll be referred to as R.
This done and a plan of action formulated, the next question was we still did not know whether employees would actually like take interest in origami. R suggested that we hold a demo session, and to get a number, how many take interest in this field, given their work pressures and deadlines.
Here let me tell you, the session was idea-ted to follow a online one. Steps would be shown, and people had to follow that. The incentive...gifts.
